KixStart was created in July 2014 by Shaun and Sharon Hearn as a Community Interest Company based in the county town of Dorchester, with the sole purpose of allowing them to give something positive back to the local community. KixStart is a ‘not for profit’ organisation principally serving Dorchester and the surrounding villages, and works in partnership with, and is funded by, donations and sponsorship.

The principal objectives of KixStart are to provide the opportunity for individuals of all ages, including those with disabilities, learning difficulties and vulnerable adults to benefit from active participation in football and related training activities. The aim is to encourage people of all ages and abilities to undertake sporting activities and adopt a healthier lifestyle and promote and foster teamwork. KixStart works in partnership with local schools, organisations, clubs, and groups to provide a high-quality safer environment for sporting activity.

The purpose of this website is to promote Dorchester Walking Football Club.

Walking football sessions for over 50’s take place twice a week within the county town. For information about training please click on the following link.

Currently the club has over 40 members of mixed abilities and a wide age range, from the early 50’s into the 80’s. We also have teams in a Dorset league playing against other local clubs, and players in both County and National teams at different age levels. For information about the latest news please click on the following link.

The club is eager to develop, progress, evolve and increase its player numbers, and would welcome anybody who would like to join us either for a free trial session, or on a more regular basis (please note that if you wish to play on the pitch at The Avenue Stadium you must wear moulded sole boots). We also have an active social calendar and meet regularly throughout the year for food and drink and a lot of amusing banter!
